Exploring material
I explored bamboo's properties by visiting bamboo shop, experimenting
with drilling, cutting, heat bending, slits and slivers. Tested various joineries
and studied how light interacts with bamboo to create reflections and diffusion
while finding ways to conceal the light source. Also diffuser is made of banana leaf paper.

Bamboo, known for its strength, flexibility, and rapid renewability, serves as a sustainable and versatile material in design. Its natural texture, warm tone, and lightweight structure allow for both functional and aesthetic exploration, making it ideal for contemporary, eco-conscious creations.

char Process

To keep the lamp fully sustainable, I charred the bamboo until its natural color turned black, eliminating the need for any artificial coating. I also made & used bamboo charcoal to fill the cracks, which makes it more stronger.
