Brief
Create a furniture piece which has multiple use-case eg : Cross-leg sitting
low sitting table, side table etc.

SATVA embodies the principle of “Form follows Function”, where its design is driven purely by its purpose. It is versatile and intuitive, offering no restriction on how one should sit, use, or place it encouraging free interaction with the furniture. The selection of material is deliberate and thoughtful, ensuring both durability and aesthetic appeal. It is constructed without any tie members, showcasing clear construction and structural efficiency. Despite its minimalistic design, it is highly robust, capable of supporting heavy weight making it reliable and practical.

Mockups
Paper is the most intuitive medium to replicate the qualities of bend-ply. Its natural flexibility allows playful exaggerations of curves and folds, turning a simple sheet into a dynamic and sculptural form.

Prototyping
I began the prototype by making a plywood jig/frame. The 5mm bend-ply was sanded smooth, then three layers were glued together and pressed onto the frame with clamps and nails. After the glue dried, we removed the piece from the frame a 15mm thick curved form, strong enough to hold over 150 kg.
